Welcome to the Department of Global, International and Area Studies (GIAS) at UNC Charlotte.  Established in 2009, the department brings together a number of existing interdisciplinary programs under a single umbrella -   International Studies, Latin American Studies, Islamic Studies, Judaic Studies and Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Studies.

The GIAS office is located in Macy 103.  Please feel free to drop by or contact the office if you would like additional information about any of our programs.  We look forward to our role in promoting the continuing internationalization of the university and providing students with opportunities to pursue programs of study that are designed to prepare them for the rapidly changing world of the 21st century.
